Hello You,
It’s been a minute since I’ve written, so I figured it was about time I get this newsletter started again and headed in the direction of my dreams. I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
All the flowers …
This past spring while I was doing my annual dance of nurturing seeds and starts for my garden, I began dreaming of finding a way to join my love for nature with my love of story to create something wild and magical and filled with wonder. The result was a series of “Notes from Destiny” pop-ups.
Inspired by my novel-in-progress and the amazing connections made from my Dear Destiny posts here at The Cure For Longing, I decided to take the spirit of Destiny on the road to various locations to see what might happen. The rules I made for myself were fairly simple —
Take a typewriter to a place of natural beauty.
Sit myself and the typewriter down at a small table.
Write free poems, advice, and enchantments for anyone who stops to talk.

Wow, what magical, full-hearted, experiences I had. There was laughter, kindness, contemplation, connection, and joyful tears, every time. I’m excited to see if I can squeeze a few more pop ups in before the snow flies. If you’re in Nova Scotia, keep an eye on my social media feeds to see where Destiny might appear next.
Introducing , Voice of the Moon
Something else I’m SUPER excited about is the addition of a paid subscriber monthly —Voice of the Moon.
While The Cure for Longing will remain a free weekly newsletter from my desk to your inbox, starting today, all paid subscriptions (monthly, annual, or patron) will unlock the door to the world of the Voice of the Moon — a monthly mix of honest advice, quirky tales, and hopeful enchantments that arrive in your inbox every full moon.
The Voice of the Moon monthly will contain any or all of the following (in text, audio, or video form): the Dear Destiny column; Tidewrack Divinations; readings from The Little Book of Strange; news from the Office of Mirabilia, Advice for New Witches, and music from the Society of Hopeful Mermaids.
As a member of the Voice of the Moon community, you can also submit a question to Dear Destiny, (via comments, message, or voicemail), and take an active part in the Voice of the Moon community via the comment section so we can continue conversations that arise from the newsletter’s contents. The world of Voice of the Moon is connected to a novel-in-progress, so eventually there will be an opportunity for you to experience first looks at the new work, exclusive Q&As, and online readings and workshops, if that’s your jam.
At the heart of it all is my love of story and a belief that sharing our stories with each other is what keeps us whole. Whether you choose the free or paid option, I’m so glad you’re here, and truly grateful for your support.
Closing thoughts
Thank you for taking the time to read The Cure for Longing. I love the beautiful connections made possible by this crazy experiment of words!
If it makes sense for you, I do hope you’ll consider becoming a paid subscriber and joining me in the world of the Voice of the Moon. The monthly posts will not only give you exclusive looks into my latest work and access to comments and community, but it will also give me much needed-support as I write the next novel.
Until next time, may you find magic along your way.
Thanks so much to everyone for warmly embracing the return of The Cure for Longing! To all those who are now paid subscribers, please feel free to connect via the comments and to post any questions you might have for Dear Destiny.
