The Birth House and Little Women remain two of my most beloved books. That their literary spirit co-mingles within your writing here is a delight beyond measure. Magic for a weary heart. Tidewrack Divination a selkie song reminding all the lost Mermaids how to find their way home to the sea. Looking forward to more.
Nice, cozy post for yet another blustery day here in Wolfville. Seems we always had weather like this when I was in school in the 1960s/70s, but, strangely, I don't think school was ever cancelled. Probably an insurance thing with bussing these days:)
I fondly remember the Blizzard of 77. My brother and I made a snow fort from the drift up to my second floor window. My uncle was a principal of an elementary school in Niagara Falls and stayed with children overnight because they were unable to get home. A welcome first post for the "The Cure for Longing" blog. This morning we are under a blizzard warning with heavy snow. Schools are closed and many businesses announced closures.
Loved reading Stormstayed as it reminded me of living at Doyles near Port Aux Basques in the winter of 1985-1986, when we saw frozen sea waves the first time ever! Hope for me is watching the sun rise and the longer days. Pretty bullfinches feeding on the seed heads of the rough scrub at the back of our house near Scarborough, UK. Thank you Ami.
Hope is here, with me, every day. ..In my family, my students, loud laughter and peaceful winter Sundays spent on the couch with a wonderful book. Keep writing and sharing...I am grateful for your words.
Things that bring me hope - authors like you working on another book that I and others will devour; watching the birds at our feeders and at the heated bird bath; spring; watching our two adorable cats groom each other; experiencing a tighter neighbourhood community; seeing the creatives of the world do their thing; David Whyte; Brene Brown. Thanks for asking Ami. Thanks for sharing too.
Thank you for the beauty of your words! I'm hunkered down in Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoying the solitude and softly falling snow. It feels like it's time to get back to what we were doing. Only a bit differently because we've had time to ponder it...

Kindness from neighbours, family, possibility of retirement, backyard birds, two cats, our son's upcoming wedding in June are some of the things that are bringing hope to my life right now. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and words.
Definitely a blustery week here in the Maritimes. I enjoyed reading your Message in a bottle post while I'm cocooning over here on PEI. Thanks for sharing your encouraging words. Stay cozy and well.
I loved it and also interested in your beach finds. I started being more intrigued when my mom died. She loved beach treasures and I’m not sure if it’s because I have more time or because she left me her gift to remind me of her ❤️
tammacphee.com I think you might be interested in my book that is coming out this year😉

Hi Ami! I enjoy hearing from you in this news letter! Rock on ‘cuz! ❤️🤗 📖
There’s something magical about being snowed in hunkered down no possibility of going anywhere!
