Oh my goodness we love Monty Don too. What an upper he is. Along with Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy. These series are helping us get through the darker days.
Plants, books, yarn, cats, music. They are my mantra against despair. I slowed down knitting for a couple of weeks so I could read more fiction, I'm avoiding the news from our country and others, and the plants and cats and music are a constant comfort. Plus reading posts like this, my friend. We are almost out of the hellscape that is January, and every day dances us closer to spring. We will endure, and prevail.
I am taking a class in "slow stitching" wonderful way to slow down and enjoy creating with your hands. There are many you tube videos on this subject. Lots of fun and helps keep life and what is important in perspective.
Hi Ami, I sit at my patio door and just watch my garden...even when it's a blizzard out! Just watch, stop overthinking and just enjoy all the action out there--the wind, the snow, the squirrels and the birds....just be quiet for a little while....have a great day....
We have many free little libraries in our neighbourhood. Twice now I have taken a book that I have finished and tucked inside it a hand written note and a Tim Horton's gift card. It's a small gesture of resistance to the dumpster fire and a vision of hope for loving communities. The quiet walk throughout the neighbourhood, the feeling of joy and excitement about who will choose the book...well, it really fills me up in some strange way. Anyway, this is one of my practices for 2025.
I LOVE MONTY DON!!! Yes, he gets me through the long winter days as well ❤️❤️

-Take a course to learn something new.
-read a book for enjoyment.
Take up a hobby or work on your hobby. Mine are reading and stamp collecting. And in the winter months, also jigsaw puzzles.

Grounding my energy into the Earth; meditating; sending healing energy to others, including the Earth; reliving my visit to see my infant grandson!
Bask in glorious sunsets (or, sunrises).
